In this example a 20 x 15 inch relief sculpture needs a frame. It had been attached to a piece of thin plywood with a hanging wire attached.

Alder was custom milled for a simple frame profile, cut to size, applied black gesso and silver edge detail. Before the artwork gets installed in the frame a wax finish is applied to the silver edge and wood frame.
The old hanging hardware gets removed, the artwork is installed in the new frame, a paper back with new hanging hardware gets applied on the reverse side.
